A KIND OF LIKENESS
I make music and art as a kind of likeness. I learn by making them. I don’t usually start with a picture of the thing and work towards it. I decide to build, and find out what I’m making, and why, along the way.
A lot of what I make begins with something already there: noise, recordings I kept without knowing why, fragments of older work. Making something from them changes how I hear what was there in the first place.
